Access to this standard has been sponsored by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA), who identified the importance of enabling non-technical audiences and the public to access a PDF copy of the publicly available specification online at no charge.

SNZ PAS 6010:2023 has been prepared by representatives from the motor vehicle industry, electrical engineering and transport sectors, and energy retailers and central government regulators. It collates advice for New Zealand commercial enterprise. It explains how to optimise EV charging systems to ensure EVs are safely and efficiently charged at commercial premises. The PAS is designed to become a single touch point document, where all relevant general EV charging information is contained, and incorporates: I. Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency guidance and acknowledges WorkSafe New Zealand safety requirements II. Advice concerning the energy efficiency transmission of electricity from the grid to an EV in a commercial installation setting, and the types of chargers available to optimise this efficiency.
