Oil of calamus — Determination of cis-beta-asarone content — Gas chromatographic method on packed columns

A small quantity of the oil is analyzed under specified conditions. The cis-beta-asarone contents is determined by using the internal standard or addition method. As stationary phase polyethylene glycol 20000 is used. Operating temperatures: Oven: isotherm about 190 °C. Injection system and detector: about 170 °C.
