Current Date published:

Food microbiology - Examination for specific organisms - Escherichia coli in bivalve molluscs - Rapid method

This joint standard was developed in conjunction with Standards Australia (SA) who advised us that the standard was reviewed and resulted in a new Australian (AS) only standard AS 5013.19.1-2012. However this edition will remain current within New Zealand. For the most up to date Australian standards, visit www.standards.org.au.

To revise the method for examination of escheria coli in bivalve molluscs to remove the ambiguous statement given in relation to its applicability for regulatory purposes and to stipulate the resuscitation step as an integral part of the method.
