Methods of test for agricultural food products, Determination of crude fibre content (modified Scharrer method)
The prepared sample is boiled with a mixture of acetic, nitric and trichloroacetic acids. The residue is separated, washed, dried and the loss in mass on ignition determined. For use when Part 1 (the general method) is not applicable.
