Methods of test for agricultural food products, Determination of crude fibre content (general method)
The prepared sample is boiled with dilute sulphuric acid, the residue separated, washed and boiled with dilute sodium hydroxide solution. Residue remaining is separated, washed, dried and loss in mass on incineration determined.
