AS/NZS 3500.3:2025

Current Date published:

Plumbing and drainage – Part 3: Stormwater drainage

Please note that the 2021 edition (AS/NZS 3500.3:2021) remains referenced as an acceptable solution for compliance with Building Code clause E1 Surface Water, subject to some modifications.

MBIE will consult on referencing the 2025 edition (AS/NZS 3500.3:2025) as an acceptable solution in a future Building Code update.

If you wish to use AS/NZS 3500.3:2025 before it is referenced as an acceptable solution, you need to propose it as an alternative solution to the relevant building consent authority when applying for a building consent.

Standard specifies the requirements for materials, design, installation and testing of roof drainage systems, surface drainage systems and subsoil drainage systems to a point of connection.
