Volunteers needed urgently for two committees - surgical apparel and gas cylinders
Join a joint standards committee to work on revising standards with other industry experts in Australia.
Can you represent New Zealand?
Do you work with either medical apparel or gas cylinders and keen to support projects on trans-Tasman standardisation? Both projects do not cost anything to join, except your time and dedication. The benefits of taking part include building great professional networks and exposure for your organisation, being at the forefront of shaping the standards you use, learning from others in your sector and being part of a team and leaving a legacy for your industry peers.
Surgical apparel committee
The joint Australian and New Zealand HE-013 Surgical apparel standards development committee is looking for more experts to join them, to prepare standards on medical and surgical apparel used to protect health care workers and patients during medical and surgical procedures and examination.
The committee will focus on revising some joint standards from 2014, which will follow our aged standards process which Standards New Zealand can advise on.
We would love to hear from you if you or your company works with natural rubber, synthetic rubber, and synthetic elastomer examination gloves, medical and surgical facemasks and gowns, surgical "spacesuits" and x-ray protective equipment. Please note excluded from scope is cloth facemasks intended for personal use to reduce the risk of transmission of disease and personal protective equipment not specifically intended for use during a medical or surgical procedure for example steel toe shoes or industrial respirators.
Gas cylinders committee
The scope of the gas cylinders committee is adoption of 29 international standards for use within Australia and New Zealand. Ultimately the aim is for standardisation in the fields of the verification, filling, testing, maintenance, identification, and construction of cylinders and attached fittings for the storage and transport of compressed gases. With respect to testing only, cylinders may include LP fuel vessels.
