New collections

We’ve consulted with industry to find out what collections would benefit standards users who regularly utilise standards in their profession or sector. Here are some of the newly available or expanded collections:

Acoustics in Buildings - This collection supports the design of acoustically comfortable spaces, covering sound insulation, reverberation control, and compliance with NZBC Clause G6.

General Cabling - Includes standards for electrical wiring, structured cabling, and installation practices that ensure safety and performance in modern buildings.

HVAC Systems - Guidance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and system design.

Refrigeration and Air Conditioning - Includes standards for refrigerant handling, system design, and maintenance practices for both residential and commercial applications.

Scaffolding - Essential for safe work at height, this collection includes standards for scaffold design, erection, inspection, and dismantling.

Tiled Roofing - Provides guidance on tile selection, installation, weatherproofing, and structural considerations for long-lasting roof systems.

Working at Height - Includes fall protection systems, harness use, and planning for safe access and egress on elevated work sites.

Solar PV and Battery Systems - Supports the design and installation of solar energy systems, including photovoltaic panels, battery storage, and integration with the grid.

Storage and Handling of Hazardous Substances - Ensures compliance with hazardous substances regulations, covering storage, signage, and emergency procedures.

Engineering - Different engineering professions consult different standards. While there is overlap, there are also standards that fit the niche of each discipline. With guidance from Engineering New Zealand, we have compiled the useful standards in three subcategories of engineering: building envelope engineering, structural engineering, heavy vehicle engineering.
