Change in prices and fees
From 1 August 2025, Standards New Zealand is increasing the prices of its products and services.
Revenue sustains the work that we do as New Zealand’s national standards body. It enables us to deliver on our core functions of developing standards, adopting international standards, participating and representing New Zealand’s interests in the international standards system, and providing access to standards for industry’s use.
Standards New Zealand has undertaken a comprehensive review in 2024, which identified a need to increase prices. This is only the second time we have increased prices in more than a decade, despite increases in operating costs. This is not typical of most businesses, which would have seen prices raised during this significant period. However, it is not sustainable for Standards New Zealand to maintain these costs.
We operate a user-pays full cost-recovery operating model. Our operating model is aligned with the fee-setting and cost-recovery provisions in the Standards and Accreditation Act 2015. As such, we set prices and charge users of NZ’s standards system to recover these necessary business costs.
Online Library subscribers will have the increase at their next renewal period after 1 August 2025.
At Standards New Zealand we appreciate your continued support and use of standards.
