Automatic sliding door assemblies

Specifies minimum performance requirements for materials and components of automatic sliding doors and door assemblies. Information is provided on operational safety and durability for ingress and egress traffic when assembled, installed and commissioned. Doors are classified according to hourly operating cycles. Control systems are described for both normal and emergency conditions including positioning and operation of pressure mats, photo-electric and radiant energy detectors as well as detection zone dimensions. An Appendix introduces recommended operational inspection procedures and frequency. Amendment A facilitates the use of AS 4085-1992 in New Zealand, particularly for compliance with the New Zealand Building Code (NZBC). Identical to AS 4085-1992 with modifications for New Zealand.
