Methods for mechanical testing of metals at elevated temperatures., Tensile testing

Recommendations regarding the form and dimensions of test pieces are given together with comprehensive notes for general guidance in carrying out 'hot' tensile tests. An important feature of the standard concerns the straining of the test piece. A range within which the strain rate should be controlled when determining values of lower yield stress and roof stress is specified.
