This joint standard was developed in conjunction with Standards Australia (SA) who advised us that the standard was reviewed and resulted in a new Australian (AS) only standard AS 61466.1:2020. Specifies values for the mechanical characteristics of composite string insulator units. This Standard defines the main dimensions of the couplings to be used on composite string insulator units to allow interchangeability of units or insulators supplied by different manufacturers and to allow, whenever practicable, interchangeability with existing installations. This Standard is based on but not equivalent to and has been reproduced from IEC 61466-1:1997.
