Glued laminated structural timber, Part 1: Performance requirements and minimum production requirements
The objective of this document is to specify requirements for glued laminated timber, including test methods for timber properties, the strength of finger, face and edge joints and the adhesives that provide satisfactory bonding of the component parts. It also specifies requirements for tolerances, origin of timber related to sustainable harvesting, formaldehyde emission, marking and production. The major changes in this edition are as follows: (a) Restructure of the document. (b) Change to performance-based requirements. (c) Increased rigour in the requirements for ongoing verification, reflecting the growing use of structural glued laminated timber in higher-risk, multi-residential and commercial structures.
