Measurement of sound insulation in buildings and of building elements, Laboratory measurements of the reduction of transmitted impact noise by floor coverings on a standard floor
Determines the noise reduction value of a floor covering under standard test conditions. Using a specified concrete floor, the impact sound insulation is measured in the presence and absence of the floor covering. Can be used for the design and comparison of floor coverings, e.g. carpets and soft vinyl.
