Applies to hand-held hedge trimmers which are designed for use by one operator for trimming hedges and bushes, including extended-reach hedge trimmers with a maximum length of 3,5 m. The rated voltage is not more than 250 V for single-phase a.c. or d.c. tools, and 480 V for three-phase a.c. tools. The rated input is not more than 3 700 W. Hand-held electric tools, which can be mounted on a support or working stand for use as fixed tools without any alteration of the tool itself, are within the scope of this standard and such combination of a hand-held tool and a support is considered to be a transportable tool and thus covered by the relevant Part 3. This standard is not applicable to hedge trimmers with a rotating blade, and is not applicable to scissors type grass shears. This standard will supersede AS/NZS 60745.2.15:2010 on 30 November 2021. Identical to, and includes the text of, IEC 62841-4-2 Ed 1 (2017).
