Luminaires – Part 1: General requirements and tests

Standard specifies general requirements for luminaires, incorporating electric light sources, for operation from supply voltages up to 1 000 V. The requirements and related tests of this document cover classification, marking, mechanical construction and electrical construction.

This document is an adoption with national modifications and has been reproduced from IEC 60598‑1:2020 (ED.9.0), Luminaires – Part 1: General requirements and tests. The modifications are set out in national variations boxes which give instructions where the IEC text is to be modified for use in Australia and New Zealand. Due to IEC copyright policy, it is not possible to directly modify the IEC content.
