New Standards New Zealand website launching soon

As part of our ICT Roadmap, we are planning to relaunch the Standards New Zealand website in September. This involves upgraded services and a refreshed look, including:

  • An upgrade to our Webshop
  • An improved Online Library experience
  • Updated Asset Plus services
  • A new, modern design with improved search and navigation
  • Improved online security
  • New look and feel for Touchstone newsletter and KMUTD notification service.

This means there will be some changes to how things are currently done.

What you need to know

If you are a WebShop user, Online Library or Asset Plus subscriber the changes to our website will make it easier for you to search and buy standards and improve your overall experience. Online security is also better.

You will continue to have access to your account information and the standards you have purchased. However, there will be some important changes:

  • Your user login will change from your existing user name to your email address.
  • All users will need their own unique email address and password as login credentials to access the account.
  • We will be migrating your existing account details and users.
  • The new WebShop will have new user roles and functions. These are:

Administrator. An administrator will have full access to the account. This includes the ability to make changes to the subscription, such as adding users or standards, buying hard copies or PDFs of standards, management of the renewal process, and access to the online library of standards.

Purchaser. A purchaser can buy hard copies and PDFs only. They can also access the online library of standards.

User. A user can only access the online library of standards.

  • There is also a new payments system, with the ability to set up a direct debit.

What you need to do

  • You will receive an email asking you to complete the verification process. Please do this without delay. You can then log into the Standards NZ Webshop with your email ID and manage your account and make purchases.

Online Library

In addition to the changes above, if you subscribe to our Online Library our improved service offers the following benefits:

  • Easier to navigate and search for and find standards and information
  • Improved security
  • More control over users in your organisation
  • Improved access to your library of standards.

What you need to do

  • Your account may not currently include all users from your organisation who access the online library. For example, there may be only one email address used for an account when there may be multiple users accessing the standards library. Therefore, as a one-off offer, we will upload all your users in the new system. To do this, account administrators must provide names, individual email addresses and roles (‘Administrator’, ‘Purchaser’ or ‘User’) for any users who require Online Library access. Please complete the spreadsheet here(external link), then attach it and email to enquiries@standards.govt.nz by 14 August 2020.

Note: If your organisation accesses the Online Library through IP addresses or Auto login, you don’t need to provide a list of ‘User’ roles. Your current set up will be replicated in the new system.

  • You will receive an email asking you to complete the verification process. Please do this without delay. You can then log into the Standards NZ Online Library with your email ID.
  • Administrators will be able to set up new Users in Account Management after the new website is launched.

Asset Plus

In addition to the changes above, we are making changes to our Asset Plus service. Last year we informed you we were looking at a better monitoring option for International standards. We are pleased that, with our new website launch, we will be able to provide a more reliable service.

What you need to know

  • We will continue to monitor NZ standards via the Asset Plus service, but will cease monitoring International (ISO) standards. In future, monitoring of international standards will be done via our Keep Me Up To Date (KMUTD) service. Through this free KMUTD service, you will now be able to monitor ISO, IEC and BSI standards. You can register to receive these after the new website launches.
  • If you have any ISO standards in your subscription, they will be transferred to the KMUTD service.
  • You will continue to receive automatic hard copy orders when new NZS and joint AS-NZS standards and updates are available. You will have 5 days to cancel if they’re no longer required.

What you need to do

  • You will receive an email asking you to complete the verification process. Please do this without delay. You can then log into your Asset Plus account with your email ID and make purchases.
