Approval and test specification - Particular requirements for range hoods (=AS 3310-1992)

(±IEC 335-2-31:1988) In the appliance safety series, this Standard is to be read as a supplement to the General requirements (AS 3300/NZS 6300, ±IEC 335-1 second edition, see Basic information above). It modifies the corresponding clauses to apply to hoods incorporating electrical equipment such as fans, lamps and controls, intended for mounting above household cooking ranges, ovens and similar cooking appliances for the purpose of collecting, filtering or removing contaminated air. Particular features specified include instructions for cleaning, protection against heat, and precautions to protect wiring from contamination. Does not deal with performance matters such as effectiveness of filtering. (The NZS number links this standard with the future adoption of IEC 335-2-6 for electric ranges, because the number 6331 has been allocated previously.) Approved electrical safety Standard
