International standards development
Standards New Zealand is NZ's national standards body and represents the country on international standards bodies.
International standards are developed by experts from all over the world, who contribute as members of technical committees. These experts negotiate all aspects of a standard, including its scope, key definitions and content.
Standards New Zealand is New Zealand’s national standards body and the New Zealand member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Membership of the International Electrotechnical Committee (IEC) is via the IEC National Committee of New Zealand (NCNZ).
