Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 2.78: Particular requirements for outdoor barbecues
Principal changes in this edition as compared with the 2005 edition of AS/NZS 60335.2.78 are as follows (minor changes are not listed): Requirements for temperature rises of accessible surfaces have been introduced (clause 2 ‘Normative references’, clause 3 ‘Terms and definitions’, clause 7 ‘Marking and instructions’, clause 11 ‘Heating’ and Figure 101 ‘Probe for measuring surface temperatures’). AS/NZS 60335.2.78:2019 also includes a New Zealand and Australian national variation to clause 7.12. AS/NZS 60335.2.78:2019 will supersede AS/NZS 60335.2.78:2005 on 29 November 2021. During this period the Standard AS/NZS 60335.2.78:2005 will also remain current. Regulatory authorities that reference this Standard in regulation may apply these requirements at a different time. Users of this Standard should consult with these authorities to confirm their requirements. AS/NZS 60335.2.78:2019 was circulated to Combined Procedure as AS/NZS 60335.2.78:2005 A3 but will be published as a revised edition.
