Approval and test specification - electric fence energizers - Safety requirements for mains operated electric fence energizers
(±IEC 1011:1989) In the same format as the IEC 335 series (see Basic information for AS 3300/NZS 6300) but compiled as a complete particular requirements standard. Applies to devices to be powered from an electricity supply system, which generate repetitive (periodic) high-voltage impulses (minimum period 1s) to electrify fence lines used as barriers to animals. Specifies Class II construction; deals with electrical safety requirements to be preserved even when defects occur (with limits on impulse parameters including length, spacing, peak voltage, coulomb content and energy content); and gives details of instructions to be supplied, including installation advice.
