Dangerous goods - Initial emergency response guide
This Handbook provides emergency response information for dealing safely with accidents, spills, leaks or fires in which dangerous goods are involved. Information on hazards, protective clothing and emergency procedures is given. It can be used for the transport and storage of all types of dangerous goods. The Handbook was revised in 2008 to keep it aligned with changes made to NZS 5433:2007. Those changes were carried out to accommodate the revised Land Transport Rule, the UNRTDG latest update, a review in line with latest practices and technologies, and an update to the Classification section. Other information sources drawn on for the development of this Handbook have also been updated and that material has been addressed in the 2008 version.
