Standards New Zealand and the New Zealand National Committee (NZNC) of the IEC would like to congratulate Bob Woodhead for receiving the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) 1906 Award for his outstanding work on IEC Technical Committee 61 Safety of household and similar electrical appliances.

The award commemorates the year of the IEC’s foundation and is designed to recognise major contributions towards furthering the interests of electrotechnology standardisation and related activities.

Specifically, the award is granted for an exceptional, recent contribution related to the development of a specific work project.

It was presented to Bob by Peter Berry, President of the NZNC at the IEC General Meeting held late last year in Busan, Korea. Bob is a Principal Engineer, Research and Development at Auckland-based company, Tru-Test.
