Safety management of complex technical systems - ISO new field of technical activity

Standards New Zealand is seeking feedback on a proposal for a new field of technical activity on Safety management of complex technical systems. The Russian Federation (GOST R) has proposed this activity.

The scope of the proposal is the following:

Standardisation in the field of complex technical systems, such as aerospace systems, including all their constituent elements (operators, manufacturers of industrial products, industrial infrastructures, maintenance and repair organisations, training centres, etc) throughout the full Life Cycle – definition, classification of threats and risk factors, procedures for determining safety efficiency, including predictive risk modelling; recommendations on the practical application of risk management.

Standards New Zealand is consulting with stakeholders in this area to determine New Zealand's response.
