Multiple resource evaluation guideline international workshop

Issue 49 – May 2013

The national member body of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in Israel, (SSI), is hosting a workshop on Multiple Resource Productivity (MRP). The workshop will be held from 8 to 11 July in Haifa in Israel.

There is an increasing understanding that basic resources such as water, energy, and land (food, biodiversity, and so on) are interlinked and interdependent, and that each project concerning one of them should be assessed for its impact on all of them. As a result, the need for a common assessment methodology and modelling process is required to be accepted internationally.

The impact on each basic resource, positive or negative, needs to be assessed using a common methodology that will allow for the addition of new resources into the assessment, and for the assessment to be conducted according to commonly agreed-on methodology. The objective of the workshop is to reach agreement on an International Workshop Agreement, which will be published by ISO.
