Issue 46 – February 2013
Standards New Zealand is consulting with stakeholders about a potential new area of work for the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), on Innovation processes: interaction, tools, and methods. Innovation is now seen as a key element of success to strengthen the competitiveness and the efficiency of organisations. Because of globalisation, organisations must manage their projects of innovation in an environment where a global approach and the implementation of cooperative teams are essential.
Sharing vocabulary, tools, and collaborative innovation practices are therefore key elements for organisations to be able to master and to implement an innovative approach involving all stakeholders. The Standards are applicable to all kinds of organisations and to all kinds of innovation (products, methods, services, processes, and organisational and business models, new or improved).
The proposed work programme will include:
- innovation in a collaborative environment
- integration of sustainable development issues in the context of innovation
- coherence of an innovative approach with other existing international Standards.
→ Standards New Zealand is consulting with key stakeholders to form the New Zealand view about whether this field of activity should go ahead at ISO. For more information, or to provide any comments on this proposal, please email email@example.com by 4 March 2013.
