Proposals to withdraw health standards

It’s important that standards in the health sector are valid and up to date. However, many standards in this sector were written over 10 years ago and some are 15 years old or older. We want to check with stakeholders in the health sector about what to do with 24 such standards. They cover subjects such as health and disability services, mental health sector auditing, ambulance and paramedic services, and fertility services.

The 24 standards are proposed for either withdrawal, revision, or to be reconfirmed as fully up to date.

Do you use some of these standards, and how relevant have you found them? In particular, we want to know if you object to the withdrawal of these standards, and if there are other standards that should be used in their place. If the standards are critical to the health sector but are in need of being brought up to date, we need to know that as well.

The standards that receive no objections to withdrawal by 3 May will subsequently be withdrawn. Comments received may be shared with key stakeholders, so please let us know if you are happy for us to share your comments.

Please get in touch by emailing us at AgedCatalogueReview@mbie.govt.nz with any feedback, concerns and enquiries.
