Standards New Zealand is reviewing standards that are more than 10 years old to ensure that they are current and continue to be fit for purpose. As part of the review, we ask for feedback from stakeholders on standards which we propose to withdraw.
At present we are consulting on three Standards New Zealand publications in the health sector. These publications are proposed for withdrawal as they contain material that is out of date and in the opinion of the Ministry of Health they are not fit for purpose. They include material that is now addressed in separate Health Information Standards Organisation (HISO) standards, available here.
After standards are withdrawn, they remain available for purchase.
The three publications below will be withdrawn unless we receive clear justification for retaining them from stakeholders by 21 June 2018.
- NZS 8153:2002 Health records
- SNZ HB 8169:2002 Health Network Code of Practice
- SNZ PAS 8170:2005 Primary Healthcare Practice Management Systems: Publicly Available Specification
When commenting, please ensure you identify the standard, and send your feedback to AgedCatalogueReview@mbie.govt.nz.
