Demonstrating carbon neutrality – revised BSI specification

PAS 2060:2014 Specification for the demonstration of carbon neutrality helps organisations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and quantify their carbon footprint.

It gives guidance on how to quantify, reduce, and offset greenhouse gas emissions from a specific subject including activities, products, services, buildings, projects and major developments, towns and cities, and events.

BSI has revised the specification to recognise improvements in the knowledge of greenhouse gas emissions assessment, reduction, and offsetting. PAS 2060 includes new guidance for events and special provision for the presentation of claims in promotional material.

Organisations can use PAS 2060 to demonstrate carbon neutrality for a specific subject, differentiate themselves, or prove their environmental commitment.
