Occupational regulation of engineers – summary of responses

The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) has released a summary of responses to proposed occupational regulation of engineers.

In September last year, MBIE sought comments on proposals to improve how professional engineers are to be regulated in New Zealand. MBIE analysed 69 submissions made on the proposals by individual engineers, engineering practices, engineering regulatory bodies, construction sector representatives and professional groups, technical societies, local councils, private individuals, interest groups, and companies.

MBIE officials have invited IPENZ to work with them on further developing the proposals.
