Electrification safety of historic railway stations

Most of the time, technical regulations are changed to keep up with changing technologies and innovation. However, when it comes to things like the electrification of railway systems, sometimes history comes under threat.

However, through the adoption of the latest international Standards for electrification safety, historic railway stations, like the one shown above, were able to be retained without having their decorative canopies cut back.

Progress need not be incompatible with history.
