Boating safety

The Standard for electrical installations in marinas and on recreational boats, AS/NZS 3004 has been revised.  This Standard is now in two parts:

  • Electrical installations – Marinas and recreational boats –  Marinas, AS/NZS 3004.1:2008: Specifies requirements for electrical installations associated with marinas supplied at low-voltage a.c. supply systems.
  • Electrical installations – Marinas and recreational boats – Recreational boats installations, AS/NZS 3004.2:2008: Specifies requirements for electrical installations on small boats.

The Standards supersede Electrical installations – Marinas and pleasure craft at low-voltage, AS/NZS 3004:2002.

The revised Standard is an essential safety reference for marina owners and operators, boat designers, manufacturers, builders, and regulators, dealing with electrical installations on board, or at a marina.
