A discussion document outlining proposals for new health and safety regulations has been released by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).
The discussion paper – Developing regulations to support the new Health and Safety at Work Act – is part of the Government’s Working Safer package of reforms, which aims to reduce New Zealand’s workplace serious injury and death toll of 25 per cent by 2020.
MBIE is holding a series of public meetings on proposals in the discussion document. The meetings will be one hour long, with the option of attending in the morning or the afternoon.
Submissions on the consultation document are due to MBIE no later than Friday 1 August 2014.
The discussion paper, details on the public meetings, and submission form are on the MBIE website
