Issue 47 – March 2013
Standards New Zealand continues to work with clients on clarifying standardisation needs and getting these solutions in place. Recently, we have been engaged to develop safety guidelines for adventure activities and developing rongoa tikanga (traditional Maori medicine) Standards.
We have been discussing the need for a limited scope amendment to NZS 1170.5:2004 Structural design actions – Earthquake actions – New Zealand and NZS 3101:2006 Concrete structures Standard with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) (Building and Housing Group). MBIE has directly contracted experts from the sector to prepare a preliminary draft version of the proposed limited scope amendment. We will call for representatives from various national associations and organisations to form a balanced committee for these projects in the next month.
