Clarification of top plate joints in walls from April BRANZ Guideline

Issue 50 – June 2013

A small but crucial clarification for top plate joints in walls containing bracing elements is in the April BRANZ Guideline – the nailed or plate connections are not needed when an extra top plate is used. See NZS 3604:2011 Timber-framed buildings Figure 8.1.4 Note 2.
