Issue 48 – April 2013
The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) introduced changes to the New Zealand Building Code (NZBC) documents for C1 – C6 Protection from Fire on 10 April 2012.
The Acceptable Solutions C/AS1 – C/AS7 and Verification Methods C/VM1 and C/VM2 can be used to show compliance with the New Zealand Building Code Clauses C1 to C6 Protection from Fire.
Some errors and omissions have been identified since the supporting documents were published. MBIE has now published two errata:
Errata No. 1 to each of the Acceptable Solutions and C/VM1
Errata No. 2 to the Verification Method C/VM2.
MBIE has also published an amendment to the Commentary to the Acceptable Solutions.
Transition period ended on 9 April
The transition period for the Fire Safety clauses and supporting documents ended on 9 April 2013. From 10 April 2013, the New Zealand Building Code Fire Safety Clauses C1 – C4 and Acceptable Solution C/AS1 (2011) will no longer be part of the NZBC regulatory framework.
