New NZRMCA standardised concrete truck driver hand signals

Issue 33 – November 2011

The New Zealand Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NZRMCA) has developed NZRCMA Concrete Truck Driver Hand Signals, a set of standardised hand signals to assist clear communication with concrete truck drivers while on-site.

'The NZRMCA Council takes matters of health and safety extremely seriously, and is committed to advancing the nationwide adoption of the new hand signals as a means to ensure the welfare of those who work alongside concrete truck operators,' says Jeff Burgess, incoming NZRMCA President. Burgess believes that the hand signals will help to greatly reduce the potential for incidents involving ready mixed concrete delivery.
