The Registered Master Builders' Apprentice of the Year competition recognises excellencein carpentry apprentices and raises awareness of careers in the building and construction industry. The 2011competition is now open and entries close on 30 June 2011.
The competition is open to all young carpentry apprentices.You don't have to work for a Registered Master Builder or be doing a Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation (BCITO) apprenticeship.You must be employed with a building company or individual builder and to enter you must:
- be aged 26 years or under as at 31 December 2011
- be completing a National Certificate in Carpentry
- have completed at least 2 years of the National Certificate in Carpentry onsite or
have completed your apprenticeship within 6 months of the closing date 30 June 2011
- reside in the competition region.
The competition is a joint initiative run by the Registered Master Builders' Federation (RMBF), principal sponsor Carters, and the BCITO.
