Code of practice for automotive windscreen repair
Gives recommended practices regarding repair of laminated windscreens that have been damaged by impacts. Applies to heavy goods vehicles, coaches and passenger cars. Makes recommendations governing (a) type and size of damage which may be repaired (b) area on windscreen in which a repair may be made (c) procedures to be followed by the repairer (d) steps necessary to assess quality of completed repair ( e) reports and records to be completed and retained by the repairer. Does not apply to special types of glazing such as bullet-resistant glazing, and glass plastics glazing.
