Reagents, apparatus and procedure for assessing the efficiency of tarnish-preventing treatments of silver and gold and for detecting discontinuities in precious metal coatings by exposure to an atmosphere containing volatile sulphides. Gives guidance on the number and type of test specimens, the exposure period and criteria of failure.
