Lightning protection
Sets guidelines for protection of persons and property from hazards arising from exposure to lightning. Particularly covers protection of persons both from direct and indirect effects of a lightning strike; protection of various buildings and structures from the risk of physical damage or fire; and protection of sensitive equipment from overvoltages resulting from a lightning strike to a building or its associated services. The nature of lightning and the principles of lightning protection are discussed and guidance is given to assist in determining if a particular building or structure should be protected.
