Regional relationships

The majority of New Zealand standards are developed in partnership with Standards Australia. We have a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Standards Australia to produce standards that are developed jointly by Australian and New Zealand stakeholders. Given the importance of an integrated trans-Tasman economy, this close relationship between Standards New Zealand and Standards Australia means increased knowledge, wider networks, and competitive advantages.

In 2016 Standards Australia and Standards New Zealand recommitted to our partnership following the transition of Standards New Zealand into the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment. This fact sheet explains what has changed and more about the development of joint standards.
