Join an IEC International Review Group (IRG)
Standards New Zealand facilitates the involvement of New Zealand stakeholders and interested parties within the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) technical committees (TC’s) and subcommittees (SC’s) for which New Zealand holds participating (P) membership status.
We collect your personal information (salutation, name, employment history, phone and email), in order to (a) allow the IEC National Committee of New Zealand (NCNZ) and the Standards Approval Board (SAB) to make a decision in regard to your suitability as a member of an international standards development committee (international review group), as required by the Standards and Accreditation Act; and (b) If approved by the SAB, your salutation, name, phone and email is required in order to register you on the IEC Expert Management System. This is a mandatory requirement in order to allow IEC to contact you with specific committee related information.
If you do not provide the information identified in this application form, we will not be able to process your request as required by the Standards and Accreditation Act. Besides our staff, your contact details will be shared with IEC. MBIE retains your information in line with the Privacy Act 2020 or as otherwise required or permitted by law. We keep your information safe by password protected documents, with limited staff access.
This information will be held by MBIE and IEC. You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. If you’d like to ask for a copy of your information, or to have it corrected, please email us.
**If the salutation ‘none’ is chosen, we will contact you to ask the most appropriate salutation to be used when entering your personal information on the ISO Global Database. This is outside Standards New Zealand’s control and set fields must be populated to allow data entry.
