Faye Sumner CNZM is the Chief Executive Officer for the Medical Technology Association of New Zealand and has more than 40 years' experience in the healthcare sector. She was previously the New Zealand Manager for a multinational medical device company and served as the elected Chairman of the Industry Board. She has been extensively involved in the proposed NZ therapeutic regulations which includes recognition of standards for conformity assessment of medical devices and was a member of the Standards New Zealand Electro-medical Coordination Committee.
Ms Sumner is also a Trustee of the University of Auckland, School of Medicine Foundation, a member of the NZ Heart Foundation Board, is Chair of the Heart Health Trust, and a member of the NZ Universities’ MedTech Centre of Research Excellence Governing Board.
Faye has championed the medical technology industry both internationally and nationally and in the 2018 Queen’s Birthday Honours, was appointed Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (CNZM) for her services to the medical technology sector.
