The Standards New Zealand strategy commits us to add value by working more closely with our partners. A recent example of this was the launch of a ‘value-add’ workstream, which will enable third-party providers to produce digitally enabled services using our standards content.
This recognises our desire to repurpose standards – or parts of them – in digitally innovative ways to increase their uptake and usefulness.
To facilitate this, we released a Request for Information (RFI) in 2018 that attracted 12 responses from innovative third parties. Four of these were advanced for further scoping.
Of these, one is already scheduled for beta release in April this year. Once completed, they will all offer new ways for consumers to access valuable standards content in a way other than the traditional – and popular – printed copy. This could include a smartphone app or software tool.
We are continuing to consider expressions of interest from third parties who may be interested in delivering standards content in new and innovative ways, or in developing our products and services. If you have an idea, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
