Obituary – Reg Darrough

By Nelson Procter, Standards New Zealand, Secretariat EL-O36 committee

Our EL-036 Chair, Reg Darrough passed away in November and writing this is one of the saddest things I have ever had to do. I first met Reg around 12 years ago when Standards New Zealand took over the Secretariat of EL-036 from Standards Australia, and I quickly became aware of not only his vast knowledge but also his people skills in chairing a meeting.

Reg received the Standards New Zealand Meritorious Service Award in 2005. The citation below for Reg's Meritorious Service Award is worth reading.
