Revised health and disability services Standards available now
With approval from the Minister of Health, Standards New Zealand has published the revised NZS 8134:2008 Health and disability services Standards. This follows a review process conducted by an expert committee from the health, disability, mental health, aged care, and other sectors.
‘The 2001 health and disability sector Standards established safe levels of care for consumers and provided a framework for the continuous development of health and disability services,’ says Gillian Grew, Chief Advisor (Services), at the Ministry of Health. ‘Following feedback from stakeholders, the Ministry sponsored a review of the existing Standards by an expert Standards development committee, which included key sector representatives.’
