Road-traffic safety management systems – future international Standard
ISO's Standards for road safety cover areas such as crash test dummies, vehicle safety, driving licences, intelligent transport systems, and more. Now ISO is developing a Standard for road-traffic safety management systems, ISO 39001.
'The future ISO 39001 will provide guidance on developing, nurturing, and sustaining a management system for road-traffic safety, and will therefore go a very long way to stopping the current epidemic of road-traffic deaths, an epidemic that is out of control and quickly getting worse in developing countries,' says Dr. Mark Rosenberg, Director of the Global Road Safety Forum.

Transport of dangerous goods on land

Estimated Publication Date: August 2010
Comments: Work is underway to update NZS 5433:2007 with the latest changes published by the United Nations Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (UNRTDG), and changes introduced under the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996. A committee of technical experts has been established to oversee and advise on the necessary changes. A draft of amendments is expected to be released for public comment in March or April 2010.
