Launch of IEC Global Visions

The first video interview in a series entitled IEC Global Visions has just been released. The interviews feature world opinion leaders, both from government and industry, talking on a variety of themes such as better access to electricity, frameworks for innovation, climate change, energy efficiency, and so on.

The first International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) global visions interview with the CEO of Schneider Electric, Jean-Pascal Tricoire, describes how his company is helping governments and industry meet energy efficiency challenges. By 2050 we need to halve our greenhouse gas emissions and yet energy consumption is expected to double. Putting two and two together, our generation, transmission, and consumption will need to be four times more efficient, Tricoire states.

A second interview with Keith Williams, President and CEO of UL (Underwriters Laboratories), on 'Green safety facilitating global trade', has already been completed and will shortly be made available.
