Exporting to environmentally sensitive markets requires that products comply with credible Standards as evidence that they truly meet stated environmental claims. Standards for environmental management and labelling are especially useful for exporters – they provide validation to consumers in export markets while providing confidence for importers to actively promote products to their customers.

Technical barriers to trade (TBT) service

Standards New Zealand monitors possible regulatory changes in your export markets, helping raise awareness of changes in the technical regulation environment so you can be better prepared. We manage this free service on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. A call or email to Standards New Zealand is all it takes.

Standards for international markets

Standards New Zealand can supply Standards from most overseas Standards bodies. You can save time and money by talking to us first!

Standards from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) are available electronically, on the Standards New Zealand website www.standards.co.nz. Hard copies of Standards published by ISO, IEC, and the British Standards Institution (BSI), can also be ordered on our website.

Most overseas Standards are available – simply contact us by email (enquiries@standards.co.nz), phone (0800 782 632), fax (04 498 5994), or mail (Private Bag 2439, Wellington 6140). We provide a prompt service and can help with the research into which Standards you need.
